White Rock → Langley wine country
Langley is a practical wine-country day trip from White Rock because several vineyards and tasting rooms cluster through South Langley and the rural Township. The safest plan is to choose three or four stops, reserve experiences where required, eat during the route and decide who is driving before the first tasting.
Wineries worth building a route around
Chaberton Estate Winery
1064 216 Street. One of the Fraser Valley’s established winery destinations, with vineyard tastings and Bacchus Bistro on the property. Give a tasting plus lunch substantially more time than a quick flight.
Chapter Estates Winery
1212 216 Street. A newer South Langley estate with vineyard, tasting room, patio and Fieldnotes Bistro. It can serve as the food anchor of a wine day.
Township 7 Vineyards & Winery
21152 16 Avenue. The original South Langley Township 7 site. It pairs particularly well with Festina Lente because the two are very close.
Festina Lente Estate Winery & Meadery
21113 16 Avenue. A useful contrast to conventional grape wineries because the focus includes dry, food-friendly mead.
Glass House Estate Winery
23449 0 Avenue. Family-run vineyard near the border and Campbell Valley area. A logical South Langley stop rather than something to combine with northern Langley on a rushed schedule.
Backyard Vineyards
3033 232 Street. Relaxed tasting-room and outdoor experience with BC wines, gazebo/picnic atmosphere and small bites.
Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery
6179 248 Street. More than a tasting stop: farm market, bakery, seasonal berries, waffle bar and fruit wine make it useful for mixed-interest groups.
Otter Trail Winery
5974 248 Street. Modern vineyard-side winery and dining destination. It pairs geographically with Krause better than the South Langley cluster.
The Fort Wine Co.
26151 84 Avenue. Fruit-wine stop in the northern rural Township. Use it in a Fort Langley/Glen Valley itinerary rather than zig-zagging back to Zero Avenue.
Three packages from White Rock
South Langley sampler
Chaberton → Township 7 or Festina Lente → Glass House. Add lunch at Chaberton/Chapter Estates if food is part of the outing.
Best for: first wine-country visit.Wine + farm day
Backyard Vineyards → Krause Berry Farms → Otter Trail. Less formal and easier for a group with mixed interests.
Best for: friends and visitors who want food/farm stops too.Wine country + Fort Langley
Two or three wineries → lunch → Fort Langley village or The Fort Wine Co. Keep the route northbound rather than returning south between stops.
Best for: visitors who have a full day.Celebration route
Choose three reservable wineries, one proper meal and a fixed return pickup. Do not make six tastings the goal.
Best for: birthdays, anniversaries and small groups.Shared/public wine tour or private transportation?
| Choice | Advantages | Trade-offs | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public/shared tour | Per-person pricing, guide, tastings may be bundled, no designated driver | Fixed meeting point, fixed route and schedule, other guests | 1–2 people who like a structured tour |
| Private wine-tour company | Guide + transportation, customizable for groups | Minimums and package rules can apply | Groups wanting a hosted experience |
| Private chauffeur/limo | Pickup at White Rock address, vehicle stays with group, flexible winery list and meal timing | Tastings/meals usually separate; hourly vehicle cost | Couples, families and groups prioritizing flexibility |
| Designated driver | Lowest transport cost if using your own car | One person does not taste; parking and route planning remain your job | Small local groups |
As a market example, one current Fraser Valley public wine tour advertises three venues, transportation, tastings and a light lunch from about $142 + GST per person, while private pricing varies by group and vehicle. Treat advertised tour prices as a snapshot and verify before booking.
Private transportation options from White Rock
For a self-designed itinerary, Destiny Limousine’s private wine-tour service describes typical 4–6 hour outings covering roughly three to four wineries, while its wine-tour package guide explains shorter 2–3 winery plans. My Limo Ride is another pre-arranged option for White Rock and Fraser Valley trips. These are commercial alternatives to shared tours and designated-driver travel, not the only ways to visit.
Do not overbook the day
Three wineries plus lunch is usually a better experience than racing through five or six. Confirm tasting reservations, group limits, food availability and current hours directly with each winery.
